Sunrise and Wild Deer at a 1998 pow-wow
|
The seed for
Sunrise Trading Company was first planted when an elder
said "Honey, you've got to start getting your
beadwork out there".

Sunrise in the
Allagash Wilderness in
northern Maine... a favorite getaway place |
The
following year (1997) I had a canopy and a couple of
small tables, and hit the pow-wow trail. This worked out well, as most
are gatherings I was already going to as a dancer. And each year since
then the trail has grown longer for me, as people learn of the crafts,
shawl supplies and items I have to offer.
Of
course the natural next step from there was to the
Internet. The original plan was to carry crafting supplies, but as often
happens in life....things evolved on their own. Instead, along
with a terrific variety of crafts, we are proud to bring to you a great
selection of native books, movies and music.
I am Abenaki, my ancestors coming from northern
Vermont and Canada. My husband and I live in central Massachusetts where we are both active in the Native American community. When not busy with Sunrise Trading or
our local Inter-Tribal center, I enjoy my craft work,
reading, camping, and spending time with family and
friends.
For a list of the pow-wows we will be
attending in New England, please email us at questions@sunrisetradingco.com
